Get Involved at CSC

School Council

School Council establishes and maintains the broad direction and vision of the College within the College community. It develops and monitors the strategic plan, develops and updates policy, approves budgets and expenditure, maintains the grounds and facilities, enters into contracts, reports annually to the school community, and helps to raise the profile of the College with the community. The election for Parent Representatives to School Council is held every year in Term 1 with elected representatives serving for a 2 year term.

Support Groups

Other than Council, there are a number of ways for people to get involved with the College. Mainly this is done through support groups, commonly known as parents or friends groups. The current support groups at the College are:

Art Support Group

Parents and carers are working with the CSC arts team to help support the art program. They will build partnerships with community programs, the State Festival, the local art gallery, and fund raise through events like art shows and art auctions. They will assist with Artist in Residence programs and other initiatives that support CSC students.

Drama Support Group

The CSC Drama Coordinator directs this group. DSG supports the staging of drama productions and initiates fundraising activities to help cover the costs of performance.

Music Support Group

This group of parents and carers gather under the direction of the CSC Music Coordinator. MSG organises fundraising activities for items in the music program, write grant applications and help run the main music events during the year.

Sport Support Group

This is a new group and is looking for members to start the ball rolling — pun intended! The group will assist the Sports Coordinator to run sporting activities at CSC.

Canteen

CSC contracts an outside supplier to run the canteen. At the moment this is The Dove Café. They provide good quality, local (as much as possible) meals, following the National Healthy School Canteens Guidelines. If you would like to volunteer for the canteen please contact the manager Deb on 0403 551 099.
